In Brief: Netgear ships 802.11n ADSL2-plus router
Netgear said Monday it will ship its first wireless-enabled ADSL2-plus router based on the draft 802.11n specification.
The company said in a news release that the RangeMax NEXT router combines five products into one to deliver faster speeds and greater coverage range.
Product Manager Prasad Shroff said Netgear was the first vendor to ship a wireless-enabled ADSL2-plus router that features the benefits of the 802.11n spec.
The draft standard increases wireless speeds above 180 megabits per second (Mbps); Netgear said its new router performs up to 300 Mbps.
"This all-in-one product enables users to create a network infrastructure suitable for the growing variety of bandwidth-intensive applications in the home and office," he said.
