Report says collaboration the rule for IT
June 5, 2006A new study concludes that collaboration among companies around the world has become the business model for the high-tech industry.
The report said the means of global communications among corporations has not only allowed employees to interact and work with colleagues but has made it a vital function.
"As a general rule, global companies that collaborate better, perform better. Those that collaborate less, do not perform as well," said Jaclyn Kostner, an expert on virtual collaboration.
The report was compiled by Frost and Sullivan on behalf of Microsoft and Verizon Business. It was based on surveys of 946 IT executives from around the world.
Not surprisingly, the report recommended companies be as up-to-date as possible in their communications capabilities and that conferencing and other such solutions be made as simple to use as possible.
