In Brief: Modern technology locates ancient tombs

Modern technology, including aircraft and aerial photography, have reportedly helped locate a series of ancient tombs in Italy's mountainous Abruzzo area.
The oldest tombs date to the 8th century B.C., before Rome was founded, while others date to the 2nd century B.C., the Italian news agency ANSA reported.

Although scientists were aware the area covering thousands of square miles contained numerous tombs, they have been unable to locate many of them so they asked for Italian Air Force assistance.
