Microsoft opens Zurich Developer Center
Microsoft announced Thursday it has opened a Microsoft Developer Center in the Greater Zurich Area.
This is the first Developer Center in Switzerland, which Microsoft plans to develop collaboration technologies and products for the Microsoft Office system, said the company, who chose the location based on business environment and proximity to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.
The center, part of the Unified Communication Group within Microsoft's Business Division, currently employs 18 people and is the fourth development center for the company in Europe, Microsoft said in a release.
"The Microsoft Developer Center in Zurich perfectly embodies the innovatory power of the software business in Switzerland," said Gurdeep Singh Pall, corporate vice president of the Live Communications Team in the Unified Communications Group at Microsoft.
"It underscores the high quality of education and training in this country, and its economic attractiveness," he added.
