October 24, 2005

Cingular Wireless launched Monday a revamped edition of its mobile e-mail and mobile instant-messaging services.

The mobile-phone provider said in a news release that the updated programs will allow subscribers to access Internet providers and Web sites more easily.

"We are enabling over 10 million of our existing customers with the ability to get to their existing e-mail and IM services through a set of easy-to-use clients -- anytime, anywhere, from their existing phones," stated Jim Ryan, the company's vice president of consumer data services.
