Briefs: Verizon offers local biz reviews online

November 1, 2005

Verizon said Tuesday users of its local directory pages can now read reviews of the companies and services listed there.

The telecommunications group said that SuperPages.com will allow readers to put up reviews as well as read them.

"Product reviews have been available for awhile. But now people in a community can share with their neighbors the details of a really great dining experience at the little deli on the corner. Or share the great customer service they received from a pet groomer last week. Our users have been waiting to communicate this information in their community. Now, they can because SuperPages.com knows the local community," Eric Chandler, president of Verizon SuperPages.com, said in a news release.
