Briefs: Cingular offers improved BlackBerry phone

November 1, 2005

Cingular Wireless said Tuesday it is offering the latest BlackBerry phone from Nov. 21.

The BlackBerry 8700c will be available exclusively from Cingular, and it will have faster Internet-access capabilities even though it will be smaller and lighter than existing BlackBerry phones.

The handset "is the perfect tool to deliver an outstanding data and voice experience, while extending even more critical business processes into mobile environments," Kent Mathy, president of Cingular's business markets group, said in a news release.
