2007 vehicle fuel economy list released
October 17, 2006The Toyota Prius gets the top fuel economy rating, while the Lamborghini L-147 ranks last on the 2007 U.S. government Fuel Economy Guide.
The list, compiled annually by the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency, shows hybrid vehicles continue to lead the fuel economy ratings. This year's Toyota Prius, Honda Civic Hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid and Ford Escape Hybrid FWD models top the list.
Other top fuel economy models include the Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio, Ford Escape 4WD Hybrid and Mercury Mariner Hybrid 4WD.
The list was led by the Toyota Prius, which the government said achieved a 60/51 mile per gallon city-highway fuel rating, followed by the Honda Civic Hybrid at 49/51 mpg.
The worst fuel economy, according to the U.S. government figures, was obtained by the Lamborghini L-147 Murcielago at 9 mpg in the city and 14 mpg on the highway.
