Briefs: Eagle shows high-def IPTV set-box

November 10, 2005

The TelcoTV expo in San Diego kicked off this week with a new set-box that will make it easier for DSL providers to deliver Internet Protocol Television.

Eagle Broadband's MediaPro IP5000 includes a MPEG-4 H.264 video compression option that accommodates personal video recording (PVR) and dual tuning in both standard and high-definition formats.

The IP5000 gives telecoms an end-to-end single source for IPTV offerings to residential and hotel customers. The PVR feature can be configured to customer needs and the particular storage hard disc's capacity.

The TelcoTV event runs through Thursday.
