Briefs: Alltel, MobiTV offer mobile television

Alltel and MobiTV said Thursday they will work together to offer wireless television service.
Alltel is the nation's largest wireless carrier, while MobiTV offers mobile television and digital radio services.

"With MobiTV, the customer's wireless phone becomes a portable TV that delivers the latest news, weather and sports through Alltel's advanced digital network," Wade McGill, vice president of wireless product management at Alltel, said in a news release.

"We now offer mobile television to three of the nation's top five wireless carriers, signifying yet another major milestone for MobiTV and the wireless industry," stated Paul Scanlan, co-founder of MobiTV.
