Briefs: Two broadband 'Waves' merge

North American broadband companies WaveRider and Wave Wireless will merge to strengthen their marketing positions.

The companies announced Thursday that the planned merger would join the Wave Wireless mesh networking operations with WaveRider's Last Mile Solution mobile products.

WaveRider CEO Charles Brown called the deal "a superb strategic fit that brings together complementary business lines, engineering skills, sales and marketing capabilities."

Wave Wireless markets its SPEEDLAN! Mesh products up to 5.8 megahertz while WaveRider specializes in fixed and mobile 900 MHz products.
