Cal medicinal marijuana law upheld
Although marijuana is illegal under federal law, it's still allowed for medicinal purposes in California after a judge refused to overturn the state law.
Superior Court Judge William Nevitt Jr., upheld last month's preliminary ruling rejecting San Diego County's legal challenge to the practice.
Nevitt ruled that state law enforcement officials are not obligated to arrest and prosecute people who violate federal laws, the San Diego Union-Tribune said Thursday.
