Kellogg recalls some blueberry Pop-Tarts
The Kellogg Company is recalling some Frosted Blueberry Pop-Tarts that may contain undeclared milk and pose a problem for milk-sensitive U.S. consumers.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the Pop-Tarts were distributed to retailers in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
The affected Pop-Tars are in 14.7-ounce, 8-count cartons with a bar code of 38000 31010. Only 8-count cartons with a manufacturing code beginning with AUG 27 07 CPC printed on the carton's top are being recalled.
The FDA said no allergic reactions have been reported to date.
Kellogg said it initiated the recall when it was discovered a limited number of Kellogg's Pop-Tarts Hot Fudge Sundae toaster pastries containing milk were mistakenly packed in Kellogg's Pop-Tarts Frosted Blueberry toaster pastries cartons that did not reveal the presence of milk on the label.
Consumers with packages of the recalled Pop-Tarts are advised to call the Kellogg Consumer Response Center at 800-237-1132.
