Briefs: Motorola touts wireless security cameras

December 20, 2005

Motorola is seeing its new wireless surveillance cameras as a major advance in the fields of security and law enforcement.

The Intelligent Video Surveillance and Control solution (iVSC) allows users to move cameras to where they are needed the most without having to worry about wire connections.

Motorola and venture partner NICE Systems are aiming iVSC at police agencies as well as security departments at shopping malls, sports arenas and transit centers.

The system can also be used by first responders to supply real-time video feeds from several different locations to the incident command post.
