Briefs: McAfee provides security for MSN dial-up

December 28, 2005

Users of MSN's dial-up Internet service will have access to anti-virus and firewall protection from McAfee.

McAfee announced in Silicon Valley Wednesday that its Personal Firewall Plus and VirusScan products would be provided to MSN dial-up subscribers starting in the first quarter of 2006.

"McAfee is delighted to work with MSN to help protect a new set of customers" said McAfee Vice President Todd Gebhart.

McAfee currently provides such protections for users of MSN Premium, which is tailored more toward broadband customers.
