January 9, 2006

Verizon's chief executive said Monday that the company will continue to create sustainable value for its shareholders.

In a speech at a conference hosted by financial giant Citigroup in Phoenix, Ivan Seidenberg said that network investments have produced innovations in addition to operations efficiencies.

Seidenberg also said that Verizon expects more growth opportunities in the wireless business, especially following the company's merger with MCI.
