Newest iPod version can tune in FM radio

The iPod went retro Tuesday with the debut of a new model that can tune in FM radio stations as well as play digital music files.
Apple announced at its San Francisco conference that the iPod Radio Remote, which also can act as a television remote, was ready to ship immediately and would retail for $49.

"The iPod Radio Remote combines two great features in one elegant product," cheered Apple Vice President Greg Joswiak. "The iPod Radio Remote is both the best remote control and the best FM radio listening experience for iPod."

Tech analysts had been abuzz in recent days with speculation on how Apple would top the wildly popular current iPod models that include video capabilities and ever-smaller sizes.

Apple also used the conference to introduce a new line of headphones and a connection kit that allows users to hook their iPods up to their televisions and stereos for better viewing and listening experiences.
