Brazil Bypasses Patent on U.S. AIDS Drug
(AP) -- President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva took steps Friday to let Brazil buy an inexpensive generic version of an AIDS drug made by Merck & Co. despite the U.S. drug company's patent.
