Telenor leads wireless technology group
Seven Norwegian companies have started up a company to encourage more innovation in wireless technology, Telenor said Tuesday.
Movation AS hopes that it will be a forum where experts can come together and spark innovation that in turn would be exported to overseas markets.
The seven companies are: Birdstep Technology, Comperio, Fast Search & Transfer (FAST), Nera Satcom, Opera Software, Radionor Communications, as well as Norwegian communications group Telenor.
"We believe that there is still a huge amount of pent up creativity out there, and we want to use this creativity to secure development and profitability for all parties. The seven partners cover different areas, but we share common challenges and opportunities. It is therefore vital that we work together," Hans-Christian Haugli, chief executive of Telenor R&D and chairman of Movation AS, said in a news release.
