The cricket’s ears are located on its front legs, and have four acoustic inputs. Sound first reaches the outer eardrum, which is connected to an acoustic trachea, a transverse trachea, and an acoustic trachea on the opposite side, allowing the sound to pass all the way through the cricket’s body.
