The Creston Valley is located on the floodplain of the Kootenay River, at the south end of Kootenay Lake in the Province of British Columbia, and is managed by the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Authority (CVWMA) and the Canadian Wildlife Service (CWS). The Canadian Wildlife Service has as its key mandate the responsibility to carry out a national wetland inventory.
