AMD Posts 3Q Loss, but Investors Hopeful

(AP) -- Advanced Micro Devices Inc. has lost more than $1 billion so far this year, but investors appear optimistic that stronger microprocessor sales and better cost controls are helping the slumping chip maker improve its financial health.
