JFK single-gunman theory shot down by science
G. Paul Chambers, Ph.D., is a contractor with the NASA Goddard Optics Branch and with Bellatrix, Inc. Formerly, he worked as the supervisory research physicist for the Energetic Materials and Detonation Science Department of the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Maryland and as a research physicist with the Condensed Matter and Radiation Sciences Division of the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C. one that over and over has begged the question: was there really only one gunman in the JFK assassination? Not according to science, says physicist and ballistics expert G. Paul Chambers in HEAD SHOT: THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE JFK ASSASSINATION (Prometheus Books, $25.00)—the first book to accurately solve the crime of the century through science and reclaim contemporary American history.

As the forty-seventh anniversary of JFK's assassination approaches on November 22, 2010, Chambers, a former research physicist in detonation and radiation sciences for the US government, uses the laws of physics and motion to prove compelling new conclusions about the course of events that forever changed the landscape of American leadership. He confirms:

  • the presence of a second gunman in Dealey Plaza
  • the locations of the assassins
  • murder conspiracy without a doubt

The conclusions presented in HEAD SHOT: THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE JFK ASSASSINATION aim to correct "the bad science and misinformation that has been disseminated to the American public over the last forty-five years" says Chambers, who argues that the physics behind lone-gunmen theories is not only wrong, but impossible.

Chambers covers in detail the Warren Commission, challenges to the single-bullet theory, the importance of eyewitnesses, how science arrives at the truth, the medical and acoustic evidence, the physical principle of momentum, the Zapruder film, and convincing evidence for at least a second rifleman in Dealey Plaza.

The two most valuable pieces of evidence, he says, are the Zapruder film and the acoustic evidence compiled by the House Select Committee on Assassinations in 1978. "In the high-speed science world, the film record is the most important and telling record you have of an experiment. Then you expect other measurements, such as pressure gages, strain gages, laser interferometers, and so forth, to be consistent with the film record."

Because the film record and acoustic records in this case agree so well, there is an enormous degree of confidence in the conclusions that stem from them, in this case the presence of a second gunman, Chambers asserts.

"HEAD SHOT presents a unique and fascinating correlation of history and science with the government's investigation of the assassination of President Kennedy. Warren Commission critics may disagree with the specifics of Paul Chambers's reconstruction of this tragic event, but everyone who rejects the 'sole assassin—single bullet theory' will better understand why JFK's murder was a conspiracy involving multiple shooters after reading this intellectually stimulating and highly erudite book," says Cyril H. Wecht, MD, JD, past president, American Academy of Forensic Sciences and past president, American College of Legal Medicine.

The evidence and arguments presented in this rigorously researched book will make you rethink the sequence of events on that traumatic day in Dallas. Chambers also persuasively explains why this horrible event, now almost half a century old, should still matter to us today. For anyone seeking a fresh understanding of the JFK assassination, HEAD SHOT is indispensable.

"G. Paul Chambers is a uniquely qualified guide to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Instead of theorizing or demonizing, he offers a fascinating defense of the scientific method through history and applies that method to the oft-distorted JFK forensic evidence," says author Jefferson Morley. "He dismantles the bad science at the core of Vincent Bugliosi's flabby Reclaiming History and politely punts the fantasy that the Zapruder film was altered. What remains, he reveals, is a body of scientific evidence about JFK's murder that is increasingly consistent, self-authenticating, verifiable, and definitive."

Michael T. Griffith, author and editor of the JFK Assassination Web Page, says, "HEAD SHOT is one of the most important books ever written on the JFK assassination. It is a must-read."
